Bio:

Twin Pricks, c’est d’abord une histoire d’amitié entre deux potes de lycée. 15 ans qu’on se connaît, 15 ans qu’on s’aime, 15 ans qu’on se dit « On va le faire »… Mais on le fait jamais. Ensemble, on apprend de nos expériences hardcore et métal passées (au sein de Dead For A Minute, Hyacinth et Meny Hellkin, au fil des disques et des tournées), on œuvre à la prog et au son d’un café-concert messin, on boit du whisky en refaisant le monde… Puis un jour on se dit « Il est enfin temps ».

Twin Pricks, c’est aussi un jeu de mot. OK, il y a une référence évidente à l’univers de David Lynch, mais nous réfutons tout hommage fanatique déplacé. D’ailleurs, l’un de nous n’a même pas réussi à regarder le pilote de la série en entier. Ce nom, on l’envisage plutôt comme un clin d’œil nostalgique à ces années passées à écouter l’émo juvénile des Get Up Kids, la pop indé de Grandaddy, la tristesse infinie de Mineral ou d’Elliott, l’énergie incandescente d’Hot Water Music.

Twin Pricks, c’est enfin un projet humain et hybride qui se nourrit d’illusions prépubères et d’espoirs d’adultes, de faits avérés, anecdotiques ou fantasmés, d’amour pour la musique et les belles rencontres : la nôtre, celles de quelques chemins croisés avec admiration et émotion (Culture Reject, Bob Corn, Centenaire, William Elliott Whitmore, JP Nataf, Cedarwell…), celles qu’on espère faire sur les routes et qu’on n’imagine pas encore.

Notre premier EP sortira en 7’ + CD sur l’excellent label Chez Kito Kat Records (Dog Bless You, Komparce, Filia Motsa, Thirteen Dead Trees).

Twin Pricks is the current project of Geoffrey Lolli (ex-member of Dead For A Minute, Pulsar 73, Orange Brown and Meny Hellkin) and Florian Schall (ex-member of Dead For A Minute, Short Supply, Hyacinth and Meny Hellkin). They’ve known each other for 15 years now, sharing the same love for catchy indie pop and haunting folk music. Strangely enough, they never dared to put that love into practice and play songs alongside in a band. They’re doing it now, though, and you should celebrate, especially if you dig the Get Up Kids, Grandaddy, Pinback and Elliott Smith (among others).

Not only are they experimented musicians (over 300 shows in France and Europe with their previous bands), but they’re also known as being honest music activists, both working at the Emile Vache, a famous music club from Metz (one doing the sound, the other handling the booking). Thus, they know what it takes to get a good show going, organizing over 200 gigs on their own for the past two years & getting to meet and become friends with a lot of great folks (Culture Reject, JP Nataf, Bob Corn, Centenaire, William Elliott Whitmore and then some more).

Their first EP will be out on Chez Kito Kat Records. Another story about love and friendship begins with that label. You should hear about them all pretty soon.
