Unlike a raised fist, Kapoor instead points at himself for lack of action. "Since the newspress lied / I broke down and cried / But denied the blood on my shirt." B-sides include "Oh, Siv," an attractive slice of song complete with mandolin, and his lovely cover of "Mack the Knife"—making this piece of vinyl a fine purchase for any self-effacing folkie.

VERDICT | THREE SIMPLE SONGS
It's no good to call Kapoor "new folk," as he follows the tenants of that most tried and true genre. Especially on his latest 7-inch, the title track of which is a Dylan- (nee Guthrie-) style rumination on our changing times. "Newspress Scare" mourns a world where we are cast adrift in a political and personal landscape of information overload. "I can't think straight," Kapoor sings, "It's getting late / I've had too much to read."
