Bio
Robin étudie les percussions au Conservatoire National de Rueil-Malmaison. Son parcours l'amène à croiser le chemin du musicien sénégalais Pape DIEYE qui le forme aux musiques d'Afrique de l'Ouest ainsi qu'à la fabrication d'instruments traditionnels. En plus de la batterie qu'il pratique de longue date, il joue des instruments qu'il fabrique, tel le harpe-luth n'goni, le cajon ou le kongoma.
.. En tant que compositeur, il réalise les musiques et joue lors de reportages pour des vidéos de sports extrèmes en Namibie, Australie, Nouvelle-Zélande, Singapour, Brésil...
Il compose et joue également pour le théâtre, puis découvre l’univers du trapèze lors d’une création musicale pour la compagnie des Arts Sauts à Djibouti.
Parallèlement il participe à de nombreux projets de musiques du monde, d’abord avec l’Ensemble Badila pour enregistrer l’album Qalandar express. Concerts au Pakistan, Liban, Yémen, Erythrée et France.
Puis avec Hussein Zahawy & the drummers, concert au Royal Albert Hall à Londres, Dubaï...
Depuis six ans, il est aussi régulièrement invité en Iran pour divers projets avec le SHAMS ENSEMBLE avec qui il enregistre trois albums et deux DVD, puis joue avec ce même groupe en collaboration avec l’Orchestre philharmonique d’Ukraine au 22th international Fadjr music festival à Téhéran, au Kurdistan ainsi qu’aux Etats-Unis à Washington, New-York au jazz Lincoln Center, Los Angeles au Royal hall, San Francisco au Davies Symphony hall...
Depuis un an il collabore avec Pape Dieye, Matador et Ben Lecomte au projet SUBA (voir le lien dans les amis)

En 2006 il réalise son propre album "Bon Voyage" qui obtient l’aide à l’autoproduction en partenariat avec la SACEM.

Robin began studing drumming and percussion from a tender age, and continued untill he graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. Not long after Robin met musician Pape Dieye, with whom he began his study of West African music, and the making of traditional instruments. He now plays his home made N'gonis, Cajons and Kongomas..
After several years of teaching drums and percussion in various schools, he began composing music for films. As a composer Robin has travelled to Namibia, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Singapour, Portugal...to create the soundtracks for a successful series of extreme sports films.
He has toured and recorded with the multi-cultural group Badila in both India and East Africa. Robin performed for various theatre productions, and created improvised soundscapes for the "Arts Saut" troop in Djibouti. His versatility in recording and performing with the JMPZ, Shams Ensemble, SUBA, Isadora Project... and shows a true formlessness and maturity that comes only with experience.
Now he has begun his personal musical venture, accompanied by Pape Dieye and other close friends. In 2007 they recorded the album entitled "Bon Voyage" along with sound engineer Vincent Chabot. The album summarizes the spirit of the voyager, the nomad, and the memorable encounters through music. Come along and take a listen for yourself as the voyage continues...
