Bio:

Mouss' alias Mustapha Idir ,chanteur contrebassiste ( guitariste ,joueur de oud) autodidact . C'est dans un quartier de la banlieue stéphanoise, que Mouss' attrapera le virus de la musique afro-américaine. Vers l'âge de 14 ans il débute la guitare (what d'i say est le premier morceau qu'il apprend) au contact des collègues passionnés par les années 50' et qui ne jurent que par Chuck Berry ,Ray charles.... En 87 (à l'âge de 22 ans) il commence la contrebasse et, avec 2 de ses collègues donneront naissance au groupe "Katmen".Il passe des jounnées entières à repiquer les lignes de contrebasse sur les albums de T-bone Walker, Chuck Berry, Johnny Burnette...Un album (Hell's love) sera enregistré. En 92 il forme un trio acoustique country blues avec Nordine Gheurbi (Canyon Band) et Fred Brousse.Une formation qui arpentera les route de France durant deux ans. Puis avec Fred, ils décident de persévérer dans un répertoire plus blues et c'est la naissance de Fred 'n' Mouss'. En 94 il rencontre Joe "guitar" Hughes à Houston, artiste qu'il accompagnera ensuite en tournée en France.Il aura aussi l'occasion de jouer aux côtés de Maurice John Vaughn, BJ Emery , Holly Maxwell.... En 97 il enregistre "Livin' room blues" un album fait avec les moyens du bord (enregistré directement en sortie de "petite" table). Il travaille avec différents musiciens de talents tel que Stéphane Sarlin (guitare, percussion), Yazid Bahri (guitare, oud), Abdelati El Boussehabi (percussions), Steve Turner (guitare, dobro, lap steel). Puis Mouss' se penche de plus en plus vers le jazz et les musiques éthniques et enregistre différents albums: -"L'habitude et la routine" 2000 -"Le swing du marabout" 2002 Il participe à la formation jazz "Léa et les chics types" et participe à l'enregistrement de "lucky",ainsi qu'à d'autres projets. Aujourd'hui Mouss' s'affirme dans un style à l'image du monde dans lequel nous vivons et continue son bout de chemin et d'aventures. Accompagné de Franck Boutin-Albrand aux percussions et Vincent Bûcher à l'harmonica, Mouss'trio vient d'enregistrer "Clandestin" , un album ou le blues et le jazz côtoient l'Afrique et l'orient.********** ******************************************************************** ******************************************************************** Mouss ' alias Mustapha Idir, singer double bass player (guitarist, player of oud)is an autodidact. It is in the suburb of St-Etienne (France), that Mouss ' will catch the virus of the afro-American music. Around the age of 14 years he starts playin' guitar ("what did I say" from Ray Charles is the first piece which he learns) with colleagues fascinated by the 50s ' who were passioned by artists like Chuck Berry, Ray charles.... In '87 (at the age of 22) he begins to play the upright bass and, with 2 of his colleagues (a guitarist and a drummer ) will give birth to the group " Katmen " .He spend all his time trying to copie the lines of upright bass on the albums of T-bone Walker, Chuck Berry, Johnny Burnette... Three years laters an album "Hells love" will be recorded. In 92 he forms an acoustic country blues trio with Nordine Gheurbi (Canyon Band) and Fred Brousse. A trio with which he will travel thrue France for two years. Then with Fred, they decide to persevere more in blues and "Fred'n'Mouss' band" is born. > In 94 he meets Joe " guitar " Hughes in Houston, an artist who he will play as a side man on tour in France. He will also have the opportunity to play beside Maurice John Vaughn, BJ Emery, Holly Maxwell.... In 97 he registers" Livin ' room blues " an album made with low a budget. He works with various talented musicians such as Stéphane Sarlin (guitar, percussion), Yazid Bahri (guitar, oud), Abdelati El Boussehabi (percussions), Steve Turner (guitar, dobro, lap steel). Then Mouss ' bends more and more towards the jazz and the éthniques musics and registers various albums: - " L'habitude et la routine " in 2000 - " The swing of the marabout " in 2002 He participates in the band jazz " Léa et les chics types" and participates in the recording of "Lucky", as well as in the other projects. Today Mouss ' asserts himself in a style just like the world in which we live and continue his way and adventures.Accompanied by Franck Boutin(percussions )and Vincent Bûcher (Harmonica) Mouss' trio has just recorded "Clandestin", an album where jazz and blues mingles with Oriental and African influences.
