Dans ses veines coulent les errances d’un G.I. noir débarqué sur une plage, d’une Bretonne sentimentale, d’un enfant émigré de ses îles africaines, du basalte en fusion de la Montagne Pelée. Il en tire un faux air de Barack Obama, une paire d’iris sombres qu’il promène sur les bords du canal Saint-Martin et un art qui jaillit comme une lave, voyage comme une algue, se cristallise en littérature, musique, photographie… Les barques restent amarrées sur la Seine, le RER se prend à 5h35 du matin, les CRS sont grands et beaux, et Mike Ibrahim roule – de préférence en direction du Nord – et capture chaque image. Ses chansons sont des tableaux, peinture sociale ou portrait amoureux, des blues ironiques et engagés, des poèmes délicieux, drôles et mélancoliques.
