Kilo's four members come from several Angers bands who left a mark at some point or another on the French scene (Sexypop, Sweet Back, Cut The Navel String…). Here's for the bling-bling and glamour side, as it seems to be the way the world goes round nowadays. Yet Kilo has nothing to fear from an anonymous resume. Their noisy post-hardcore has what it takes to settle the debate, with or without a prestigious past. In the wake of Helmet, Lard and Unsane, Kilo holds the perfect equation between fury and temperance, between complexity and efficiency. Heavy, real heavy guitars, ruthless rythmic section and you wonder how the voices can be so overriging and melodic in this sonic maelstrom. The mood is generally dark, but the band can also offer some melodic respite with catchier choruses. On stage, the now quartet don't fear banging their heads to the walls of sound. And they do have tough heads.

Les quatre membres de KilØ sont issus de diverses formations angevines qui ont chacune laissé, à une époque ou à une autre, leur empreinte à un niveau national (Sexypop, Sweet Back, Kyu, Cut The Navel String…). Voilà pour le côté tape-à-l’œil et people de la chose, puisque c’est ainsi que le monde semble vouloir marcher désormais. KilØ n’a pourtant rien à craindre du CV anonyme. Parce que leur post-hardcore noise suffit amplement à mettre tout le monde d’accord, passé prestigieux ou pas. A la croisée des chemins de Sick Of It All, Lard et Unsane, KilØ trouve l’équation entre fureur et retenue, entre complexité et efficacité. Les guitares sont lourdes, très lourdes, la rythmique pilonne à vue et on se demande bien comment le chant parvient à tisser des mélodies au milieu d’un tel cataclysme sonore. Et si les ambiances des morceaux sont souvent sombres, le groupe sait aussi s’accorder quelques répits presque pop sur certains refrains accrocheurs.Sur scène, le quintette n’a pas peur de se cogner la tête contre les murs du son. Mais ils ont la tête dure. Bref, une fois n’est pas coutume, vous devriez vouloir garder ce KilØ, même jusqu’à l’été prochain…
