Going After Zen or GAZ to give it its abbreviated name is the solo pseudonym of a certain Chris Hirons who it seems has a fondness for the crafting of looped grooved progressively psychedelic mantras, four cuts feature here showcasing his said love and mind arranging artistry, ’pulsaris’ leading the charge and blessed with a maddeningly hypnotic locked motorik kraut groove that upon closer attention may well appeal to fans of the strangely quiet of late Echoboy’s ’Scene 30’ era ear gear from his pre Mute days at Earworm. Next up the snake winding gem like terra forming ’Rainbird’ hooks its cart in the general direction of the much loved Birdpen to weave out a curiously alluring blend of sultry arabesque mirages dappled delicately by sheens of aromatic Australasian haziness while without doubt the sets best moment is the sultry, smoking and seductive head turning ’tantric templars’ - imagine Ozric Tentacles relocated to the great pyramids and shimmying up to Blancmange’s ’living on the ceiling’ and given it a deliriously delicious snake charming prog re-plug. And as though you might be thinking that things surely can’t get any better then armed with a guitar and some fat ‘n’ juicy slapped twangs ’turn the page’ emerges from the arid and exotic haze like something resulting from a passing meeting between Ry Cooder and RL Burnside. Elsewhere those of you preferring their sounds a little more dubbed out and cosmically grooved should hook up immediately to ’Plurisity’ while by way of play count alone seemingly the most popular cut here ’Ant Dance’ is an uptempo wiggly jiggly sample laden slice of trippiness much recalling early career Tex La Homa. More please.

I sparked up a fattie.... Threw some bubble in the tube and sat down for a listen..... I love your sonic soundscapes... I find your music to be powerful as well as delicate.... Somewhat of an audio orgasmic experience to say the least.... I really needed that.... Thanks, mike"

"Fantastic music simply mind expanding love the play with spatial space and time. After listening to your music and when the song "Pulsaris" came on I new I heard the song on a College station driving home from the Peter Murphy show on June 3rd. So cool how things work out when a friend tells you check out this band and it's like it was meant to happen.
Wonderful guitar works, bass is fantastic, drums the great heartbeat.
Love the layout too, great graphics.
