Førde Folk Music Festival July 8-11 2010!

Førdefestivalen er fire dagar med musikalske møte på tvers av alle verdas kulturar. Festivalen fokuserer på akustisk tradisjons- og verdsmusikk, og har som mål å glede, røre, overraske - og utfordre publikum. Konsertane føregår i små og store konsertsalar og ute i mektig vestlandsnatur. Festivalen er Skandinavias største for folk/trad/verdsmusikk. Kvart år kjem 300 artistar frå rundt 25 land til Førde. I 2009 feira festivalen 20-års jubileum, og temaet var World Voices!

Førdefestivalen har utover festivaldagane i juli ei konsertscene gjennom året; FolkJazzScena. Her vert det arrangert konsertar i heile fylket. FolkJazzScena presenterer både tradisjonell folkemusikk, og folkemusikk som tangerer andre musikksjangrar.

Organized for the first time in 1990, Førde Folk Music Festival is now one of the largest festivals for folk/trad/world in Scandinavia. The festival focuses on accoustic traditional and world music. Norwegian and Nordic traditional music play an important part of the programme, presenting about 300 artists from 25 countries each year, for 25-30 000 visitors. Førde is a small town on the west coast of Norway, "in the middle of the fjords". In 2009 the festival celebrated 20 years, and the focus for this festival was World Voices!
