.. .. DJANTA .. .. .. Djanta, singer/song-writer from the "New Roots" generation, is one of the rising artists from the European scene. From Reggae New Roots to Dancehall, Djanta evolves between tradition and modernity and walks in the footsteps of European artists singing in English and Jamaican Patois such as Gentleman, Alborosie or Patrice. .. ..His stage name Djanta is coming from a trip to Benin, West-Africa in 2006. Djanta means “lion” in an African dialect. The image of the lion perfectly fit Djanta personality. Djanta’s territory is the stage and he stands ready to attack with words and notes!.. ..In 2007, he went to Kingston, Jamaica for 2 months and started to work on his first album. Immersed in Jamaican culture and going from studio to studio, he met several musicians, singers and producers who helped his artistic development and made his vision and comprehension of the music evolve. His path led him to Tuff Gong, the legendary studio of Bob Marley and, one of his songs has even been played by Elise Kelly, radio presenter on Irie FM, the most popular radio on the island. Besides the memorable memories, Djanta came back with one song featuring Lutan Fyah, one with Luciano and another with Fantan Mojah. .. ..On stage, backed by ZULU MOVEMENT, an experienced band nourished by multiple influences, Djanta will take you to a trip far from the slow stereotyped reggae : with inspirations from Hip Hop, Blues or Soul, reggae fans as well as the general public will enjoy an inspired and energetic show.
