Diana Pirags is a talented professional singer, the owner of a strong and recognizable voice with a touch of a latin charm. Besides the vocal arts she plays flute and piano. Diana takes part in many local and international projects in cooperation with major artists of Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, USA and South America. Diana Pirags was born in Riga, Latvia in 1984 to a very musical family. As her mother is a singer as well, she has been close to music and singing at all times. As a child Diana took piano lessons and sang at every opportunity. When she was 8 years old her interest in music was enhanced by an inspiring teacher who thought that music was the best way to bring people together. Diana discovered a love of music and that she wanted to be a singer. Diana has been a joyful, talented and musical kid since early childhood. Having graduated Pavula Jurjana Music School flute class in 2000 year,later Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy in 2006..Her interest in Latin-American music grew. She began experimenting with different kinds of vocal music and finally decided to pursue a career as a latin singer. During her college years, she started singing and performing with many musicians from Latvia, in various styles including pop, salsa, rumba - flamenco, lounge, soulful and latin – house. Favorite singes: Celia Cruz, Beyonce, Chaka Khan,Tina Turner un Gal Costa. Diana has participated in concerts and musical projects such as: Hamburg Music college & theathre under Prof. Dr. Kristop Senher direction, Latvian Chamber Coir “Fortius”,”Džeza brāļi”, „Time after time”, „Animales Ingratos „(Ukraine), Max Warshavsky (Saxofon - Germany),Tiago Loei (Brazil),Raimonds Pauls, Olga Pirags,Gunars Rozenbergs & Mirage Jazz Orhcestra, Raitis Asmanis bigband etc... Diana Pirags is lead-singer and participant in such groups as: „Smooth band”, „Gipsymania, „La Petit Paris”, „Chocolad”, „El Coco Loco”, and joins in musical projects like „Orquestra Tropicana”,“Cuban Nihts”,”Futura Fashion” etc. Participant in many festivals, competitions and master-classes in: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia and Czech republic. I.prize “Berliner Perle” (Germany),I.prize „Dinaz Stars” (Latvia),I prize „Saules Starini”(Latvia), I. Prize “Star Chance”(Latvia), Nominated in competitions: “Morning Star” (Russia – Latvia), “Slavianski Bazaar” diplomant and nomination for special prize (Belorusia), Finalist of Eurovision song contest(Latvia), competition “Lady Summertime” (Finland) diploma, competition “Sony Jazz Stage” diploma, competition “Jazz Voices” (Lithuania) diploma. Festivals like: “Bildes”, “Rigas Ritmi”, “Saulkrasti Jazz”, “Liepajas dzintars”(Latvia), “Moscow Jazz”,(Russia), “Jazz in Odessa”(Ukraine), “Sing Jazz” (Lithuania) etc. Diana's present set is based for oldies & goldies, familiar and not so familiar tunes in: spanish, france, italian,arabian,russian and portuguese .Her performances are also boosted with contemporary hit & dance music.
