NEW ALBUM "WAY OF LIFE" AVAILABLE: JUNE 17th- ACT Music.. http://www.actmusic.com/product_info.php?products_id=309.. Céline Bonacina began studying music at the age of seven. .. Between 1996 and 1998 she began specializing in the baritone saxophone and performed regularly with several Parisian big bands. She then left France to live in La Reunion, and performed in numerous festivals throughout the Indian Ocean region. Her group opened up for the renowned French big band "Orchestre National de Jazz" and for Henri Texier. She also performed with the highly esteemed pianist Omar Sosa... After returning to Paris in 2005, she released her ﬁrst CD, "Vue d'en Haut", ("Seen from Above"). Her original compositions have had high critical acclaim by the French press, (Jazz Magazine, Jazzman, Culturejazz.net, Sitarmag.com, Citizenjazz.com, Les Dernières Nouvelles du jazz, Blues Again...)... Actually, her trio (with the bassist Nicolas Garnier or Kevin Reveyrand and the Malagasy drummer Hary Ratsimbazafy) performs in many jazz festivals in France : Avignon, A Vaulx Jazz , Jazz à Juan , Jazz à Vienne , St Jazz sur Vie, Jazz à la Ciotat , Jazz à Tours , Orléans Jazz , Pannonica ,« La Luciole , Jazz sous les pommiers … and peformed also in Italy, Syria, Germany, Switzerland….. In France, she opened up for the pianist Laurent de Wilde, the vibraphonist Mike Manieri, or the saxophonist Andy Sheppard with whom she also takes part in other musical projects... Her new album "Way of Life" has been recorded in 2010 february. It will be available in june 17th (ACT Music)... She often invites other musiciens, as the guitarists Yannick Robert or Nguyên Lê... She recently performed in Paris with the trombonist Nils Langren "Funk Unit ».. Céline Bonacina won three french jazz competitions:.. LAUREAT DU TREMPLIN REZZO JAZZ A VIENNE 2009.. 3ème PRIX DU CONCOURS NATIONAL DE JAZZ DE LA DEFENSE 2007.. 1er PRIX DU TREMPLIN JAZZ A LA CIOTAT 2007.. Elle commence la musique à l'âge de sept ans en conservatoire (Belfort, Besançon, Paris…), puis se spécialise au saxophone baryton dans les big band parisiens entre 1996 et 1998. Elle part ensuite pour l'île de la Réunion où elle enseigne au Conservatoire National de Région pendant 7 ans. Parallèlement, elle se produit dans de nombreux festivals de l'Océan Indien, notamment en premières parties de L'Orchestre National de Jazz, d'Henri Texier, ou en tant qu'invitée du pianiste Omar Sosa... De retour en métropole en 2005, elle sort son premier album, « Vue d'en haut ». Ses compositions interprétées aux saxophones baryton, alto et soprano sont saluées par la critique (Jazz Magazine, Jazzman, Culturejazz, Sitarmag, Citizen jazz, Les Dernières Nouvelles du Jazz...). .. Son 2ème album "Way of Life" enregistré au studio du Flon à Lausanne en février 2010 et signé chez ACT, est bientôt dans les bacs. (17 juin 2010)... Elle se produit le plus souvent en trio, mais aussi en quartet dans de nombreux festivals, en France et à l'étranger : Jazz à Juan, Jazz à Vienne, Festival de jazz d'Avignon, A Vaulx jazz, St Jazz sur VieJazz à la Ciotat, Jazz à Tours, Orléans Jazz, Pannonica, La Luciole, Jazz sous les pommiers, tournées en Syrie , Allemagne, Suisse , Woma Jazz festival (Italie), également en premières parties de Laurent de Wilde, Mike Manieri, Andy Sheppard avec qui elle collabore pour d'autres projets... Elle s'est produite récemment à Paris avec Nils Landgren « Funk Unit »... Par ailleurs, Céline Bonacina est titulaire du CA de saxophone et du DE de jazz...
